Power supply and charging
Dell caps non-Dell host delivery at 90 W, even with the 180 W dock adapter. This Intel host lists 45 W and 65 W USB-C supply options.
Screen modes
For the dock’s two DisplayPort outputs, Dell lists two Full HD 60 Hz screens on HBR2, two QHD 60 Hz on HBR3, and two 4K60 only with HBR3 plus DSC. The applicable host link must be confirmed; a Thunderbolt or DP version label alone does not select a row.
If picture or charging fails
If there is no picture, verify the monitor input and test that monitor and cable separately before adding another screen.
If both monitors work alone but not together, try Full HD 60 Hz on each as an isolation step. Success at that mode does not prove dual 4K support.
If a second screen fails, record the two requested modes and check the dock’s simultaneous-output table. A working single display does not prove the pair.
If charging is slow, compare the actual dock supply with the laptop’s original adapter. Use the supported laptop charger while the dock’s delivered power is unresolved.
