1. Your device

Choose the device running your apps. You’ll choose the separate screens later.

What kind of device are you connecting?

Where do I find the device model?

MacBook or Mac desktop: open the Apple menu → About This Mac. Look for the model and chip, such as MacBook Air and M3.

Dell, ASUS, HP or Lenovo with Windows: open Settings → System → About and look for the device model. The computer’s own label may help too.

iPad or Android tablet: open the device’s information page in Settings and read the full model name. Keep suffixes such as FE. A Microsoft Surface Pro runs Windows; check its processor variant too.

You only need the model name. Do not share a serial number or service tag.

2. How you connect

A dock is a separate box with extra ports. It can be a different brand from your device. If you use only a cable, choose “No dock”.

Where do I find my dock model?

Look at the label underneath or on the back of the dock. Copy the model, such as Dell WD22TB4 or Anker A8392. The model printed on the power adapter may identify the charger instead of the dock.

Named Mac desktops, iPads and Surface devices also have scoped single-screen direct routes. Other pairings remain unconfirmed.
