Privacy in this edition

The setup checker, troubleshooting flows, search and checklist run in your browser.

Selections and shared plans

The tools do not contact your devices, require an account, or store selections in cookies or local storage. Copying a setup link places the selected model IDs and requirements in its URL fragment (the part after #). That fragment is not sent in an ordinary page request, but it is visible to anyone you share the link with and may remain in browser history. A copied support summary contains those details and source links. Copy and print only what you intend to share.

Measurement

Vercel Web Analytics is configured for page views on www.connectyourdock.com. Page information uses the canonical page address, without URL queries or shared-plan fragments. Our pages send only the origin, not the path or query, when referring you to another page. Raw searches, setup selections, serial numbers and free-text descriptions are not sent as analytics events. Collection depends on activation in the hosting account and successful script loading.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics for basic page views and predefined product events. Google Analytics uses first-party analytics cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Advertising storage remains disabled. Our explicit events use canonical page addresses and broad categories or counts, excluding raw searches, form inputs and shared-plan fragments. To understand how visitors find us, we include only the referring website’s origin (protocol, hostname and any port), never its page path, search terms, query parameters or fragments. We omit internal referrals, IP addresses and common local hostnames. Google receives connection metadata, including your IP address, to handle requests; analytics cookies and connection metadata are personal-data processing, even though we do not request your name or email. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. Cookie-based counts are estimates of browsers and sessions, not verified people. Existing unexpired refusals from the earlier version remain respected. See Google’s privacy policy.

Optional desk-check feedback

The desk-check links open a separate Tally form. They send no setup inputs or page/result parameters. A response is sent only when you submit the form. Tell us only the model names and unresolved decision or setup problem; do not include passwords, serial numbers, service tags, receipts, logs, uploads or confidential information. Follow-up email is optional and used only when you request a reply, never for marketing.

Only the site owner can view submissions in the form account. We publish only de-identified aggregate counts and themes, never raw responses or email. A submission containing email is deleted when follow-up closes or within 30 days, whichever comes first; other submissions are deleted within 60 days. Trash is emptied after aggregate extraction. Notifications, analytics integrations, webhooks and routine exports are off. The form does not save unfinished answers for later. Copying a support summary does not send it to Connect Your Dock.

Hosting and external references

The hosting provider receives ordinary request information needed to serve the site, such as the requested address and connection details. Private preview access may depend on platform sign-in terms. Manufacturer source links open other organizations’ sites, where their own privacy practices apply.
