A working display does not imply charging

Plugable explicitly excludes laptop charging from the UD-6950H. Its power adapter runs the dock; attaching a USB-C host cable does not turn that adapter into laptop Power Delivery. The product uses DisplayLink for its dual-display capability. Plugable: UD-6950H specifications and limitations

If the laptop is slowly losing charge, first check whether its separate charger is connected. Do not start with a driver reinstall: software cannot add the missing charging hardware.

Keep these three connections distinct

A two-cable laptop setup may be perfectly usable. Decide whether reducing that to one cable is worth a purchase rather than treating it as a fault.

Choose the cable for each screen

The UD-6950H supports up to two external screens, not four. Plugable lists 4K60 with suitable HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 displays; older HDMI 1.4 or DisplayPort 1.1 connections reduce the 4K target to 30 Hz. Plugable: UD-6950H specifications and limitations

If one or both screens are missing

  1. Confirm the full model on the label; do not use instructions for a different Plugable PD dock.
  2. Verify the dock has power and the laptop recognizes connected USB devices.
  3. Use the manufacturer’s supported DisplayLink installation for your operating system. On a Mac, check the required permission as well as installation.
  4. Test each monitor independently and select its actual input.
  5. If the dock is used at work, ask IT to confirm software approval before changing the managed configuration.

Would a different dock help?

A replacement with host charging could reduce cable handling, but it must still meet the display and software requirements. A native-video replacement may behave differently on a base M1 or M2 Mac. Preserve the display count when comparing products.

Plugable positions this dock for ordinary productivity rather than demanding graphics workflows. Check the application and protected-video limitations before buying it for gaming, editing or streaming. A specification for two 4K screens is not a claim of suitability for every task on those screens.
