If you own the original revision

Connect its native screen to the single HDMI 1.4 Alt Mode output and its two software-driven screens to the two DisplayPort 1.2 outputs. It uses a 5Gbps host link and provides up to 60 W. Do not apply the updated dock’s paired-output groups, SD-reader guidance or 100 W / 96 W charging figures. Plugable UD-ULTC4K: original and June 2022 hardware

Connect the updated dock

  1. Confirm the computer port supplies USB data, DP Alt Mode for Display 1 and USB-PD input if charging matters.
  2. Install current DisplayLink support on Windows or macOS; on macOS keep Manager running and grant permission. ChromeOS 100+ uses built-in support.
  3. Power the dock with its original adapter. Connect each monitor to one connector in a different numbered group.
  4. Use the rear laptop-marked host port and included 10Gbps USB-C-to-USB-C host cable—not the front accessory USB-C port.
  5. Verify blue power and green host LEDs, extend/arrange displays, then test charging and every peripheral independently.

Ports and unknowns that matter

The updated unit documents four USB-A 5Gbps ports, a front USB-C 10Gbps port at about 20 W, Gigabit Ethernet, UHS-II SD and separate 16-bit/48 kHz audio input/output. Those are interface specifications, not our measured speeds. HDR, adaptive sync, DSC, enterprise Ethernet features, aggregate bandwidth and exact high-refresh combinations remain unknown. Driver version numbers are intentionally not frozen here; use Plugable: current DisplayLink downloads and OS notes.
