The main decision points
| Question | SimPro Dock 2 | DC500 |
|---|---|---|
| Is my ASUS model named? | Check the exact model code in ASUS’s list | A shared ASUS brand does not establish an exact pair |
| How do screens connect? | Check HDMI, DisplayPort and other listed outputs | Two HDMI paths plus downstream Thunderbolt video |
| What changes for three screens? | Read the exact host and combined-output conditions | Triple 4K60 needs the stated host and DSC conditions |
| Which power number matters? | Check negotiated host delivery, not just supply size | Up to 96 W host delivery; 150 W names the adapter |

For an ExpertBook already using SimPro 2
Record the complete B-series code and the working display modes. Keep that known arrangement as your comparison. Move to DC500 only after identifying the particular limitation it would solve; a newer connector standard is not itself evidence of better results for your screens.
For a Zenbook or shared desk
Use the exact device’s port specifications, then confirm the complete arrangement. The SimPro list is not a blanket approval for all ASUS laptops, and a dock specification listing macOS does not promise three independent Mac screens. See the UX5406SA/AA choices.
Compare the full cable kit
- Match each screen input to a usable dock output.
- Account for a downstream Thunderbolt video adapter if your DC500 layout needs one.
- Check the laptop’s charging requirement and the supplied host cable.
- Confirm the complete screen modes with the manufacturer when the finder labels the pair as unconfirmed.
