QHD here means 2560 × 1440. The first Laptop Go’s published dual 60 Hz ceiling is 2560 × 1600, so the listed QHD example fits within it. Why the dock cannot upgrade the tablet’s display engine
Dock 2’s own two-4K60 capability is only one limit. The tablet’s combined display capability can be lower. A cable advertised as 4K60 cannot turn a documented two-4K30 host arrangement into two-4K60. If one 4K60 screen is enough, that may be a better fit than buying another dock without evidence it solves the requirement.
Cables and setup
- Use Dock 2’s Surface Connect cable and correct power supply.
- Connect each monitor to a different rear USB-C video port using a suitable video cable or adapter.
- Verify one screen at its target mode before adding the second.
- For Go 2–4 with two 4K displays, select 30 Hz for each. For first-generation Laptop Go, compare the two-QHD60 option with two-4K30.
- Check pointer movement and your ordinary work. Decide whether that documented mode actually meets your needs.
The Dock 2 wiring guide shows an HDMI and DisplayPort arrangement. Front USB-C sockets are accessory ports.
When the result still needs confirmation
A mixed setup that combines one 4K60 display and a lower-resolution display is not automatically approved by these symmetrical tables. The checker keeps unreviewed combinations unresolved instead of assuming the spare bandwidth can be used in any way. Record both exact monitor modes when asking for a supported configuration.
