Three different power numbers
| Reviewed SKU | USB-C input listed by Acer | Supplied power rating |
|---|---|---|
| Aspire 5 A515-58M-718Y | 65 W | 90 W |
| Nitro V 15 ANV15-51 / NH.QQEEK.004 | 65 W | 135 W |
The USB-C input rating, dock output and main power supply are separate limits. A 100 W dock cannot establish 100 W delivery into a laptop whose reviewed USB-C input is 65 W. Acer: Aspire A515-58M-718Y / NX.KQ8EC.004 specifications Acer: Nitro V 15 ANV15-51 / NH.QQEEK.004 specifications
A sensible arrangement for an existing desk
- Connect the laptop’s supported main charger.
- Power the chosen dock with its specified supply, then attach the proper USB-C/Thunderbolt host cable.
- Connect one monitor and select its exact input. Use the TS4 or TBT4-UDZ output arrangement described in the cable guide.
- Add another screen only after checking the combined mode.
- Observe charging and performance during the intended workload. An idle desktop drawing little power does not prove that gaming or rendering will run from dock power alone.
What a dock can still do
A display and peripheral connection can remain useful even when the laptop needs a second cable for power. Compare the screen inputs, required USB ports and Ethernet needs. Keeping a working charger may be enough; a new dock is not automatically the fix for a charging limitation. The TS4 and TBT4-UDZ cable guide shows which video sockets to use.
If charging drops or the screen goes black
| Symptom | Next check |
|---|---|
| Battery falls during a demanding task | Verify the main charger and compare the same workload without the dock |
| USB devices work but there is no picture | Check the host cable, video-capable port and selected monitor input |
| One screen works, two do not | Test each screen alone, then compare their combined modes |
| A DisplayLink dock has app or graphics issues | Check the software route’s documented limits; it is not an assumed native gaming-video replacement |
