Start with your connection and power requirements
Identify the Intel machine type
These options apply to 21S6/21S7. A shared L14 name does not transfer them to another generation or AMD variant. Lenovo’s September 2026 matrix lists the dock combinations below; that is separate from proving a complete desk arrangement.
Choose the host connection
The host has two Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 40 Gbps USB-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery. Use the dock’s specified host cable. Its USB or Thunderbolt headline does not establish the combined resolution of every attached monitor.
Compare delivered power with the laptop supply
Lenovo specifies 65 W USB-C adapter options and a USB-C PD range of 15–65 W. Check the dock’s power delivered to the laptop; the larger number on a dock power brick also supplies the dock and its accessories.
Separate total screens from one-dock output
The host specification allows its internal panel plus three external displays across supported routes. It does not promise three screens through every listed dock. HDMI supports up to 4K60; a direct HDMI test can help isolate a dock problem, but does not verify the dock’s monitor combinations.
