You do not need DisplayLink just to reach two

Connect two screens without guessing
- Power the TBT4-UDZ and attach the Mac to the dock’s computer port with its intended Thunderbolt cable.
- Use one monitor from each numbered Mac display group, choosing HDMI or DisplayPort within each group.
- Select Extend in macOS and confirm both requested picture modes.
- Check reconnecting, charging and your everyday applications.

When a software dock makes sense
Consider it for a requirement the native arrangement cannot satisfy, after checking software approval and application limits. For a two-screen desk, compare the complete native arrangement first. Compare native and hybrid output groups.
