The two USB-C ports are not identical

ASUS lists one USB4 Type-C port with DisplayPort and power delivery, and a separate USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort. Use the model’s port labels or manual to identify them; connector shape cannot distinguish their capabilities. ASUS: Zephyrus G14 2024 specifications

Separate picture from charging

If the screen works but charging does not, keep those observations separate. The published USB4 path includes power delivery; the other USB-C entry does not make that same charging claim. The computer’s supported power adapter remains a useful baseline.

Make a controlled comparison

  1. Confirm GA403 and the 2024 model scope.
  2. Connect one screen using a supported video cable.
  3. Verify a normal desktop at the required input and mode.
  4. Repeat on the other documented video port without changing the screen.
  5. Only then insert the dock and compare the result.

Gaming is an additional requirement

A working office desktop does not verify variable refresh, HDR, high refresh rates or frame-rate performance. Write those requirements before comparing the direct HDMI, USB-C and dock routes. The checker’s common office modes stop at 4K60.
