Which dock options should you consider?
Dell lists WD25, WD25Z/SD25, WD25TB4, WD25TB5 and the older WD22/WD19 families for PB14250. For a new desk, start with WD25 for a straightforward USB-C path or WD25Z/WD25TB4 when you need the higher 130 W Dell power tier. A WD25TB5 is also listed, but this Thunderbolt 4 laptop does not gain a Thunderbolt 5 host link merely by using that dock. Older 90–96 W choices need a power check on a 100 W laptop configuration.
WD25 or WD25Z / SD25
Dell's March 2026 matrix lists both current USB-C families for the exact PB14250 row; WD25Z/SD25 provides the higher published Dell host-power tier.
Check first: Read the original adapter rating first. Dell documents 60 W, 65 W and 100 W PB14250 configurations; a model-row check mark does not establish a requested multi-monitor mode.
WD25TB4 / SD25TB4, WD25TB5 / SD25TB5 or WD22TB4
These are the documented Thunderbolt-family choices for this model and use its Thunderbolt 4 host path.
Check first: Use the dock's specified cable and supply. WD25TB5 operates at the capability of this Thunderbolt 4 host, not at an inferred Thunderbolt 5 link rate.
WD19S, WD19TB / TBS, WD19DC / DCS, UD22 or HD22Q
Dell also lists these reuse options for PB14250, so an existing supported desk need not be replaced only because a newer family exists.
Check first: Use WD19DC/DCS with one host cable. Dell attaches power cautions to the 90 W WD19S configuration, UD22 and HD22Q; keep the 100 W laptop charger available when applicable.
Connect displays and power
- Computer cable
- Connect the dock's specified USB-C/Thunderbolt cable directly to a PB14250 Thunderbolt 4 port. The model manuals document DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4 and Power Delivery on the Thunderbolt path.
- Display cables
- Start with one direct HDMI or DisplayPort cable from a documented dock output. The laptop's HDMI 2.1 TMDS port is the clean isolation path when a monitor works directly but not through the dock.
- Power
- Power the dock with its correct AC adapter and compare delivered host power with the laptop's original 60 W, 65 W or 100 W USB-C adapter. The dock-brick wattage is not the same as watts delivered to the laptop.
- Processor exception
- Core Ultra 200U/Core 100U documentation lists three external displays with the internal panel on and four with it off. Core Ultra 200V documentation lists two and three respectively. These are host ceilings, not promises for every dock/cable combination.
First recovery steps by symptom
Nothing on the dock works
- Confirm the dock has its specified AC adapter and that its status indicator is on.
- Reconnect the manufacturer-specified host cable directly to a PB14250 Thunderbolt 4 port, without an extension or intermediary hub.
- Try the other Thunderbolt port and one known-good USB accessory before changing monitor settings.
USB works, but a display does not
- Reduce to one monitor on one direct dock video output and select the matching monitor input.
- Test the same monitor with a known-good direct cable from the laptop's HDMI port.
- If direct HDMI works, return to the dock path, update the exact dock firmware and graphics driver, then add screens one at a time.
Charging is slow or the battery drains
- Read the original PB14250 adapter and identify whether the configuration expects 60 W, 65 W or 100 W.
- Confirm the exact dock variant, its AC supply and delivered host-power rating; do not use the power-brick label alone.
- Use the original supported laptop charger when the dock cannot meet the documented requirement or the system reports low power.
Still unknown: Dell does not establish every combined resolution, refresh rate, HDR mode, cable conversion or peripheral-load result for each listed dock. The exact PB14250 processor family, dock revision, firmware and monitor path remain part of the decision.
