Which dock options should you consider?
For Dell Precision 7760, choose WD19DC or WD19DCS and connect both captive USB-C plugs to the adjacent left-side Thunderbolt 4 ports. It is the only family Dell marks supported in the current exact row. WD22TB4, WD19/S, WD19TB/TBS, UD22 and HD22Q are exact negatives, while every WD25 family is absent from the current section and therefore remains unsupported rather than inferred from the sockets. The workstation's documented adapter is 240 W, but WD19DC/DCS delivers up to 210 W to supported Dell systems. Those figures do not establish peak-load equivalence; the sustained-load boundary and whether Dell recommends concurrent barrel power for this exact pairing remain undocumented, so use the original 240 W adapter only as an isolation comparison unless Dell provides configuration-specific guidance.
Dell WD19DC / WD19DCS
This is the sole positive dock family in Dell's live exact Precision 7760 row and the host/dock manuals document the dual-cable display path.
Check first: Use the dock's documented 240 W supply and connect both captive plugs to the two adjacent left Thunderbolt 4 ports.
WD25 families — unsupported/unlisted
Precision 7760 does not appear in the current WD25, WD25Z, WD25TB4 or WD25TB5 section, and Dell says an unlisted computer is unsupported for that dock.
Check first: Do not infer support from Thunderbolt 4 sockets or a nearby Precision row. No exact current-family package is established.
WD22/WD19/UD22/HD22Q — not supported
Dell marks WD22TB4, both WD19/S packages, WD19TB/TBS, UD22 and HD22Q No for this exact workstation.
Check first: Their footnotes about power do not reverse a negative matrix cell. Use WD19DC/DCS when a supported dock is required.
Connect displays and power
- Dual host cable
- Power WD19DC/DCS first, then connect both captive USB-C plugs to the two adjacent Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left side of the workstation.
- Display outputs
- Use DP + DP + either HDMI or multifunction DisplayPort. WD19DCS toggles HDMI and MFDP, so those two outputs cannot drive monitors simultaneously.
- Hybrid graphics
- Dell's exact host table documents three external 2K-at-60-Hz displays through the dual-cable route in Hybrid mode; this page preserves Dell's own resolution label.
- Discrete graphics
- Dell's exact table documents three external 4K60 displays in Discrete mode. Treat that as a manufacturer topology, not a guarantee for unknown monitors and cables.
- Power boundary
- The host's specified adapter is 240 W and the dock ceiling is 210 W. Keep the original barrel adapter for an isolated comparison; simultaneous dock and barrel-power guidance is not established in the reviewed sources.
First recovery steps by symptom
The dock is completely absent
- Verify the WD19DC/DCS power adapter and confirm both captive host plugs are fully seated in the adjacent left Thunderbolt 4 ports.
- Disconnect host and dock AC, reconnect dock AC first and then reconnect both host plugs.
- Test one USB device before adding displays, Ethernet and other peripherals.
USB and Ethernet work but a display is blank
- Start with one known-good DisplayPort monitor at FHD60, select its input and reconnect its cable plus both dock host plugs.
- Use Windows Display Detect, then confirm the BIOS Hybrid or Discrete graphics mode before comparing the exact table.
- Add displays one at a time and never occupy dock HDMI and multifunction DisplayPort simultaneously.
An adapter warning, stalled charging or throttling appears
- Check that the dock has its documented 240 W supply and both host connections.
- Disconnect both dock host plugs, connect the workstation's original 240 W barrel adapter and compare charging or workload behavior in isolation.
- If direct power resolves the symptom, seek exact Dell guidance before combining power inputs; the reviewed documents define neither the 210 W-versus-240 W workload boundary nor concurrent-power procedure.
The dock reconnects or loses devices
- Reduce the desk to dock power, both host plugs and one USB device.
- Install the exact Precision BIOS, graphics components, WD19DCS firmware and Realtek USB Ethernet driver.
- Reconnect one monitor and peripheral at a time to identify the failing cable, output or device.
Still unknown: The installed GPU, BIOS Hybrid or Discrete mode, internal-panel state, DSC path, exact monitor EDIDs, cables, mixed refresh and color depth, HDR, present BIOS and dock firmware, Linux topology and the real workload boundary between 210 W dock delivery and the 240 W system adapter remain unknown. Dell's tables are manufacturer evidence; Connect Your Dock did not test the workstation, dock or sustained-load behavior.
