Latitude 7450 docks: choose Thunderbolt or USB-C, then match power

Dell's current exact-model matrix supports its USB-C and Thunderbolt dock families, but the 60 W, 65 W and 100 W computer configurations still change the sensible package.

Which dock options should you consider?

For Dell Latitude 7450 laptop or 2-in-1, start with WD22TB4 or current WD25TB4 / SD25TB4 when Thunderbolt expansion is useful; Dell's current exact-model matrix supports both. WD25 is the simpler current USB-C option with up to 100 W on supported Dell systems, while WD19 / WD19S with its 180 W supply is the clearest supported legacy USB-C reuse path. Match the exact computer first: Dell documents 60 W, 65 W and 100 W USB-C adapter configurations. The lower-power WD19/S 130 W package delivers only 90 W and carries Dell's charging-capacity warning; WD19DC/DCS is supported only as a one-host-cable connection, not its dual-cable workstation mode.

WD22TB4 or WD25TB4 / SD25TB4

Dell's refreshed exact row supports these Thunderbolt docks, and the computer has two Thunderbolt 4 ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery.

Check first: Use one direct host cable. The dock-family listing does not establish an exact multi-monitor mode; begin with one screen and check the chosen dock's output table.

WD25 or WD19 / WD19S with 180 W supply

Dell supports these USB-C paths for this exact model; WD25 supplies up to 100 W and the 180 W WD19/S package can supply up to 130 W to supported Dell hosts.

Check first: Do not confuse the power-brick rating with host delivery. The 130 W WD19/S package delivers 90 W and may be short for a 100 W configuration.

WD19DC / WD19DCS — one cable only

Dell retains exact-model support for reuse of this family.

Check first: Connect only one of its two host leads. The Latitude 7450 is not using the dock's full dual-cable workstation power mode; connecting both can cause unwanted behavior.

Connect displays and power

Computer cable
Power the exact dock with its matching adapter, then connect one supplied host cable directly to either Thunderbolt 4 port; remove extensions and intermediate hubs.
Displays
Use outputs documented for that dock. Prove one monitor at 1920×1080 60 Hz and its selected input before adding a second or increasing resolution.
Direct comparison
Use the notebook's HDMI 2.1 TMDS port or a direct Thunderbolt video adapter to isolate the monitor and cable from the dock path.
Power
Identify whether this Latitude configuration shipped for 60 W, 65 W or 100 W USB-C power. Verify the Windows charging state; a lit dock does not prove adequate host power.

First recovery steps by symptom

Nothing on the dock works

  1. Confirm the complete dock model and matching Dell power supply.
  2. Disconnect the host cable, power the dock first, then reconnect one cable directly to either Thunderbolt 4 port.
  3. Prove one USB accessory before reconnecting displays or network devices.

USB works but a display is blank

  1. Reduce the desk to one monitor, select its exact input and begin at 1920×1080 60 Hz.
  2. Use one documented output and a known-good cable, then compare the Latitude's direct HDMI output.
  3. If direct video works, update the exact Latitude BIOS, graphics and Thunderbolt components plus the exact dock firmware before rebuilding the display set.

Charging is slow or absent

  1. Check the computer's 60 W, 65 W or 100 W configuration against the dock package and host-delivery ceiling.
  2. Reseat the supplied host cable and temporarily remove high-draw accessories.
  3. Compare with the original Dell USB-C adapter; restored charging isolates the dock power path without changing the matrix result.

Still unknown: Dell's matrix establishes dock-family support, not the installed processor and graphics path, exact simultaneous monitor modes, DSC use, EDID, cable quality, mixed refresh rates, firmware state or sleep/wake reliability. The laptop and 2-in-1 share the matrix row, but regional configuration and supplied adapter remain device-specific. No physical Latitude 7450 desk was tested.

Connect this model to your dock

Use the exact dock and power supply named below. These are documentation-based starting arrangements, not hardware tests or a guarantee of combined screen modes.

Dell WD22TB4

Windows 11; exact named model and dock configuration. Other operating systems and hardware variants are outside this route review.

Before connecting: The existing Dell compatibility record is model-level evidence. A complete WD22TB4 output and power route has not been established in this review.

Computer connection
The host has Thunderbolt 4 USB-C video/power ports. Use the WD22TB4 computer cable; an ordinary USB-C accessory port is not the computer connection.
Power supply and charging
Dock-delivered power is not established for this exact configuration. Keep the laptop’s supported charger available.
Screen modes
The host’s display ceiling does not establish simultaneous modes through this dock.
If picture or charging fails
  1. If there is no picture, verify the monitor input and test that monitor and cable separately before adding another screen.
  2. If a second screen fails, record the two requested modes and check the dock’s simultaneous-output table. A working single display does not prove the pair.
  3. If charging is slow, compare the actual dock supply with the laptop’s original adapter. Use the supported laptop charger while the dock’s delivered power is unresolved.

Follow the no-display checks · Other connection problems

Still needs confirmation: WD22TB4-specific simultaneous output wiring and delivered power still require its exact manual; WD25TB4 documentation is not a substitute. Exact monitor combination, firmware, sleep/wake and charging under your workload remain unverified.

Which docks support Dell Latitude 7450 (laptop or 2-in-1)?

“Supported” is Dell’s model-level entry. The screen resolution, cabling and delivered charging power still need to match your desk. Grouped dock variants share the stated matrix column.
